Underground tanks and landscaping around aboveground tanks are two ways to maintain the beauty of your home, while enjoying the comfort of propane gas.
In most cases, a propane tank can be easily installed underground. And, since propane is environmentally safe, it poses no threat to the homeowner’s soil or water. Where terrain prevents the placement of tanks underground, aboveground tanks can be camouflaged using attractive landscape, fences or lattice work.
Single-family homes are served by various propane tank sizes depending on their estimated propane usage. Tank sizes rang from 250-gallon tanks for single appliance usage, to 1,000 gallon tanks for very large homes with all gas appliances (including propane pool heaters). Most often a 500-gallon tank is sufficient for an average four-bedroom home.
