Agricultural Propane
Propane offers environmental and economic advantages for agricultural producers since propane is nontoxic and insoluble, it does not pose any threat to aquifers or groundwater supply. Additionally, since propane quickly vaporizes within a pressurized container and is released as a gas, it does not spill, pool, or leave a residue.
Propane can be used in hundreds of different agricultural applications, such as:
- Crop drying
- Crop heating
- Poultry and pig brooding
- Weed and pest control
- Irrigation pumps
- Water heating
- Wind generators
- Forklift power
Propane is also the most portable fuel. Storage tanks can be placed around the main farm area or in the field, and tanks can be moved with the work site, allowing farmers to power equipment in even the remotest areas of a farm.
